It seems we’re busier than ever these days. Dealing with the stress of work, the spouse, the kids, etc. can simply be overwhelming.
On top of all that, there’s home maintenance and other chores. With all of our other responsibilities, it’s easy for some areas to be neglected.
With established routines, however, these tasks can be completed on a weekly basis; preventing all-day cleaning sessions down the road.
In the Kitchen
- Scour the sink (polish, if metal)
- Clean the surface of appliances
- Wipe down cabinet doors and clean counters
- Mop the floor
In the Bathroom
- Mix vinegar and water to clean your faucets, toilet exterior, tub and sink. General-purpose spray cleaners also work well.
- Disinfect toilets with an antibacterial cleaner and use a baking soda paste on grime.
Living Areas
- Regular dusting not only preserves your furniture’s appearance, but also improves the air quality of your home.
- Treat area rugs as you would carpeting. Vacuum them once a week. For rugs that may be difficult to vacuum, take them outdoors and give them a good beating and shaking.
