Quick & Easy Updates

Raya Accent Lamp by Kenroy Home

It doesn’t matter if you’ve had your current design set up for a couple of months or a couple of years, there’s nothing wrong with mixing things up in order to make them feel fresh.

Updating a space doesn’t have to be time consuming or labor intensive.

We’re going to cover some quick and relatively inexpensive ways to update a space.

So let’s get right into it.

Splashes of Color

Adding bursts of color throughout a room is the fastest way to make the most noticeable impact on the space. However, you don’t have to bring out the buckets of paint.

Toss some bright throw pillows into the picture. Find inexpensive accent pieces in a variety of citrus hues. Citrus hues are among the few bright colors that work well with almost any color scheme.

Throw Down an Area Rug

Aside from the immediate addition of texture, patterns and colors, area rugs also serve a fundamental function. They help to designate a group of furniture to a certain space. Use one to tie your living room or bedroom set together.

Swap Out the Lampshades

Switching out your lampshade is an easy way to go from “blah” to “WOW”. With a myriad of colors, patterns and textures available, the only problem you’ll run into is trying to decide on one. A lamp or lighting store should be able to provide you with what you need, usually for no more than $50 or so.
