We’re always looking to get the most out of our spaces and implementing techniques and tricks to make our living spaces feel larger is already worth it.
So, without further ado, here are a few design ideas for your bedroom:
Apply Vertical Stripes
Whether through painting or applying wallpaper, vertical stripes trick the eye into looking up and down, which will instantly make the room feel taller as a result.
If the thought of applying wallpaper seems daunting, evenly measure the spacing and use masking tape (maybe even of various sizes to add a layer of complexity) to mark off areas where the accent color(s) will be.
Make an Accent Wall
Painting one wall in a room a darker color than the other walls will use contrast to create a sense of depth.
It’s usually best to paint the wall that’s the furthest from the doorway. Placing the bed up against that will make it a point of interest.
Use a Window as an Anchor Point
Design advice usually advises against placing a bed up against a window because it could block light from flowing in and make the room darker. However, centering a bed with the window in the room will make it a focal point and create a sense of open space around it.
