More often than not, homeowners have a limited amount of space they’re looking to maximize.
Unfortunately, homeowners in this position usually aren’t doing themselves any favors with their current arrangements and designs.
Not to worry, we’re going to cover a number of tips and techniques you can employ in order to get the most out of every square foot and make the space look larger in the process.
You just might find out that you have all the space you need.
Perhaps the most important step to take is to scale back on the size of the furniture. A lot of the furniture in our homes has been accumulated over the years and we’ve taken it from place to place.
When starting out and/or when budgets are tight, beggars can’t be choosers. But when it’s possible to change things around, smaller-scale furniture will have a tremendous impact on the aesthetic of the room. Improved aesthetics lead to improved moods, which we could all use more of.
Instead of a large, hefty sofas in a smaller living room, consider using a loveseat or smaller sofa that could sit up to three. A pair of armchairs with a slim profile and low coffee table also makes for a more spacious living area that won’t make you feel claustrophobic.
If space is especially limited, rooms need to be able to multi-task. Look for a low-profile loveseat that is also a sleeper. Now guests can be accommodated by simply moving a coffee table aside.
